Our Core Values

What Guides and Defines Us

We hold the following to be the guiding principles for how we conduct the ministry at Pillar. While we fulfill our values imperfectly, they help us remain on course and focused on what we hold to be of primary importance.

Vision

Where We Are Going

"The heart of man plans his way, but the LORD establishes his steps." Proverbs 16:9

"Unless the LORD builds the house, those who build it labor in vain" Psalm 127:1

We recognize that we are entirely dependent upon the Lord for His blessing, guidance, and direction as we seek to establish Pillar. If He would be so gracious, we hope to see the following accomplished:

  • Fulfill the Core Values. This is the bare minimum of what we want to see God do in and through us.

    1. Graduate. Be a fully self-sustaining, independent Bible Church.
    2. Proclaim. Our community must hear the Gospel. Our community needs to know where to find us if they need help.
    3. Disciple. All of our members should be on a discipleship pathway (be that formally or informally) in the vein of 2 Tim 2:2
    1. Bible Institute. Deepen our understanding of the Scriptures through Bible College/Seminary level classes that rotate through Book Studies, theology, hermeneutics (interpretation method), apologetics, ministry skills, etc.
    2. Certified Biblical Counseling. We want to offer free, certified biblical counseling to anyone in the community.
    3. Plant Again. We want to be a training center for church planting, both locally and globally, as we train and send leaders, families, and/or funds. As long as Jesus tarries, we must be about the task of multiplying followers of Christ for His glory.
