God created us for His glory. Every breath we take, word we say, and thing we do ought to be done for the purpose of honoring our Creator and His good design (Gen 1:26-28; 1 Cor 1:31; 2 Cor 5:16-20; Eph 2:10; Col 1:16).
As the Apostle Paul was carrying out his ministry, he was very careful to preach Jesus Christ and not the ideas and philosophies of men (1 Cor 2:2; 2 Cor 2:17; Col 1:28). Likewise, it is our goal to proclaim the excellencies of Him who called us out of darkness into His marvelous light (1 Pet 2:9).
The Great Commission is fundamentally about making disciples (Matt 28:18-20). A disciple is a follower of Jesus Christ, someone who is learning from the Master and growing in their ability to imitate Him (Matt 10:25; Luke 6:40). We proclaim the Good News that all might hear, we pray and trust God to open hearts to believe, and then we help one another learn to follow Jesus better each day.
